A Deep Learning Model Based Face Recognition

ABSTRACT

Humans primarily utilize faces to identify and recognize individuals, and recent advances in computing capabilities now allow for automatic recognition. However, there are still a number of issues with facial picture identification that can be automated. Face recognition is usually done in two steps, feature extraction and classification. In this paper a simple but successful method for recognizing faces is presented using a popular deep learning network i.e., a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The features are learned using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), which learns directly from the data. As a result, the manual feature extraction step that is required in traditional classification approaches is no longer necessary. When compared to existing models, the suggested model is more accurate, fast, and has higher performance. The results are compared with existing systems.
