A Paradigm Shift in Process of Teaching and Learning in Special Reference to Challenges in ICT Education during COVID -19 Lockdown

ABSTRACT Today we are facing pandemic as the Corona virus (COVID - 19). It is sweeping its way around the globe with invisible impact. It can be measured through many deaths and many have been quarantined from these days. It has led to a serious situation of global health emergency. Social distancing and excellent medical care need to be followed during the present time. This caused complete shutdown for all the educational institution. The shutdown of the education institutions has led to many apprehensions among the students and teaching fraternity. However, the teaching fraternity has been adopting innovative methods to interact with the students and focusing on the curriculum. It may be interesting to explore the concept of multi-age learning and the role of teacher in handling the problems of classroom situations for effective schooling and how they can enhance the quality of learning by using ICT’s in teaching and learning. However the teaching fraternity has been adopting innovative methods to interact with the students and focusing on the curriculum. In this context we have been trying to analyze the challenges of ICT Education and its limitations from two categories i.e., category One (In Present Context) and the category Two (In Traditional Point of View). This research article emphasizes on the innovative changes on teaching and learning with this issues and challenges. It is found that “Online Education” is not a substitute into the teaching learning process but an addition to classroom teaching like other methodologies. It is a temporary aid during this difficult situation.
