Abstract -

In this paper present a theoretical study of all nonlinear effects in an optical network. The high capacity long reach network uses wavelength division multiplexing It was suggested In 1966 that Optical fiber might be the choice for guiding the light and fulfill the future need of communication field. It is proven now by WDM networks allow the increased spectral efficiency by using multilevel modulation format. But the WDM system is affected by the fiber nonlinearity. In this paper we discussed the different nonlinear effect in WDM networks and the reason of their occurrence.
