A Review Paper on the CFT Columns

ABSTRACT Concrete Filled Tube (CFT) column systems are integrated into building construction to optimize structural performance and efficiency by capitalizing on the complementary properties of steel and concrete. This study investigates the advantages of employing CFT columns compared to conventional reinforced concrete columns. It evaluates their structural integrity, load-bearing capacity, and resilience, highlighting significant benefits in contemporary architectural and engineering practices. Analyzing various design considerations and construction techniques reveals how CFT columns enhance compressive strength through steel tube confinement and improve stability by reducing local buckling. This abstract sets the stage for exploring specific advantages such as enhanced strength, superior ductility, and heightened fire resistance offered by CFT columns.
