ABSTRACT : This research paper explores the portrayal of Nora Helmer in "A Doll's House" and Mrs. Helen Alving in "Ghosts" as tragic heroines in Henrik Ibsen's plays. By analyzing key themes such as societal expectations, confinement, self-discovery, and the pursuit of personal freedom, this study aims to shed light on the tragic nature of these female characters.
