Author Name : Parimalkumar Chaudhary

ABSTRACT Introduction: Patient falls are a prevalent safety concern in hospitals, negatively impacting patient recovery and prolonging hospital stays. These incidents can result in severe injury or death. Identifying and mitigating fall risks through comprehensive assessment tools and preventive measures are essential for improving patient safety. Methods: This quantitative study utilized a survey design with purposive sampling. A total of 121 patients and 110 nurses from four hospitals in Surat, Gujarat, were included. The study aimed to identify the prevalence of fall risk among hospitalized patients, evaluate preventive measures, develop and validate a fall risk assessment tool, and assess the tool's implementation.
