Advantage and Disadvantage of Using Smartphone among Young and Early Adults in Bangladesh

ABSTRACT Background: People are in modern days, using cell phone not only as telephone but also as a media for text messaging, email, internet access, short-range wireless communications (Bluetooth), gaming and photography. Besides its risky physiological effect due to electromagnetic radiations; it can act as a probable microbiological threat, serving as vehicles to transfer contamination from man to man and as well as place to place. Objective: The objectives of this study was to find out the convenience and drawbacks of smart phone using, purpose of using and distinct ways of internet access among young and early adults in Dhaka city, Bangladesh. Materials and Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted in some selected areas of Dhaka metro city from the period of January 2019 to January 2020. As a sampling technique, non-probability convenient sampling method was followed in this retrospective study. A total of number 1000 Bangladeshi young and early adult respondents with the specific age group from 15 to 40 age was the target sample population in the study. A structured questionnaire used as research instruments for data collection.
