An Overview of Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing In VANET
Author Name : Neha
ABSTRACT
VANET stands for “vehicular ad hoc network”. It is a subclass of MANET and also a part of ITS. It is used to connect vehicles with each other through means of wireless network. On the roads VANET is essential for both safety and entertainment purpose. It involves the use of two types of communication. One is V2I and second is V2V.In V2I each vehicle communicates with infrastructure through wireless means. It either collects or resides its data on these units. There are small sensor units installed in both of the bodies. OBU (on board unit) installed in vehicles whereas RSU (road side unit) installed in infrastructure. In V2V each vehicle communicates with each other. Quality of communication depends on routing protocols. Routing protocols play an important role in any type of network. There are various routing protocols used in VANET. But in this study, we focus only on position based routing protocol that is GPSR .In our study we go step by step. Firstly we show simple connection among vehicles, driving on respective roads on the basis of distance between them. Then we show the better connectivity among vehicles on the basis of relative velocity. Then we move on position based routing protocol , we take GPSR. This study shows the connection of vehicles in GPSR using greedy mode. But there is a problem of delay ,So to avoid this problem we move on another mode that is recovery mode. All simulation work is to be done in MATLAB.
