Author Name : Dr Mukesh Rani
ABSTRACT
India is one of the most influential developing countries not only in the Asian region but also in the whole world. National reputation is the indication of the power and value of a nation among the nations of the whole world. Foreign policy is a plan whereas Diplomacy is a means to achieve that plan or aims of foreign policy. The study shows that national reputation, foreign policy and diplomacy are complementary to each other. Though they are some differences between diplomacy and foreign policy yet they may be considered as the two sides of the same coin. Both cannot be successful without the help of each other. India’s foreign policy has been subject to various pulls and pushes since its inception. Panch-Sheel and Non-alignment are the pillers of India’s Foreign policy. India consistently emphasized on settlement of international disputes through dialogue and negotiations. India also laid great emphasize on purity of means. In this research paper the researcher discusses the disciplines i.e. National Reputation, Foreign Policy and Diplomacy in Indian context.
