Analyzing the Sociological Aspects of Mental Health Stigma in the Workplace
Author Name : Bhawna Vijay
ABSTRACT This study delves into the sociological aspects surrounding mental health stigma within workplace environments. Mental health stigma persists as a prevalent issue, often resulting in discrimination, marginalization, and hindrances to seeking assistance and accommodation within professional settings. Adopting a sociological perspective, this research aims to unravel the intricate interplay among social structures, cultural norms, organizational dynamics, and individual experiences that contribute to the perpetuation of mental health stigma in workplaces. By integrating interdisciplinary theories and empirical findings, this investigation seeks to elucidate the mechanisms through which stigma is constructed, reinforced, and contested within organizational contexts. Moreover, the study seeks to pinpoint potential intervention strategies and advocacy avenues to cultivate more inclusive, supportive, and stigma-free work environments.
