ABSTRACT: Power electronic based loads are the major cause in power quality degradation in power transmission lines. Due to their nonlinearity and time varying action, harmonic distortion and voltage unbalance are produced. This paper describes an implementation of a Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) using a static synchronous frame based control algorithm for Voltage Regulation at PCC. To maintain bus voltage, reactive power is injected or absorbed to/from the bus by controlling transmission angle. Performance of three phase three wire system with DSTATCOM is validated for Voltage Regulation at PCC by using simulation model in MATLAB/Simulink.
