ABSTRACT

Education is one of the fields experiencing enormous change in the twenty-first century as a result of the advancement and use of digital technology.The possible outcomes of an advanced technology-based learning system include online learning, web-based learning, blended learning, etc.The most common teaching strategy used in our educational system is the traditional approach.The conventional method of instruction gives the teaching and learning process a much-needed personal touch.A significant issue in the teaching and learning process has been the subpar quality of traditional classroom instruction.Online learning has taken the role of the classic chalk-and-talk mode of instruction.But both traditional classroom instruction and online delivery have their advantages and disadvantages, it makes sense to integrate the best aspects of both approaches to create blended learning. Blended learning has been demonstrated to be the most effective learning system. The presentpaper gives an overview on concept of blended learning, its advantages and to identify challenges of implementing blended learningin educational institutions.
