Captivating Animal Characters in Children Book Illustration

INTRODUCTION : Though, there have been lots of researches to find out, all good reasons to use animals as favourite characters in children's books. Hence, this part of my research paper, strives to bring all the logics reasoning acceptable to masses. Well, quoting, Author ‗Bethany Roberts‘ who said, ―Animals characters are multicultural. Children of all races and colours can relate to them.‖ Another good reason is that you can exaggerate with animals. The child can identify with it. Through identifying with the characters, we mean the child sees the book as an extension of himself and his family. As regards to this, ‗Richard Scarry‘ and ‗Jennifer Richard Jacobson‘ agrees saying that they used animals to eliminate racial stereotype characters.
