ABSTRACT
This research paper explain about thehot water and steam are extensively mode use of in various applications as in daily industries, for cleaning of containers in hospitals for sterilization, for room heating purposes etc. all these applications consume a lot of electricity, which is not costly but it also irregular in supply. Hence in this study work has been done to devise a system which can give both heated water as well as steam, utilizing solar energy with reduced cost. The objective of this project is to develop & study a cascade types of two solar collectors of comparatively smaller surface areas in which one is flat plate collector , which can generates heated water and the other one as parabolic concentrating collector, which can help in converting already heated water by flat plate collector into steam. The flat plate collector heats the water using solar energy. The water which is passed on to flat plate collector from the overhead tank is heated water at outlet of flat plate collector, which then flows by water circulation into parabolic concentrating collector & gets further heated by focused sun light, which is concentrated onto the parabolic concentrator focal axis at which sunlight is absorbed by the reflection from curved surface of parabolic collector on the absorber tube and then it transfers the heat absorbed to the already heated water, which is flowing through the absorber tube, which is then finally converted into steam. The produced steam oozes out of the absorber tube through a non-return valve, which opens due to the pressure exerted by the steam. Thus, heated water and the produced steam, which is generated through this system can be conveniently then used for various applications as stated above.
