Author Name : Dr. Senapati Nayak, Dr. Sambit Kumar Padhi
ABSTRACT The National Education Policy–2020, has laid a clear path for transforming the education system of the country. The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) was recently introduced to reform the education system in India and bring an inclusive, multidisciplinary and holistic approach to learning. Despite its promising goals, the implementation of NEP 2020 faces various challenges, such as shortage of trained teachers, inadequate infrastructure, lack of funds and resistance to change. The objective of this research paper is to study the challenges and possible solutions in implementing NEP 2020. A comprehensive policy document, NEP 2020 addresses all aspects of education, including early childhood education and care schooling and higher education. With key recommendations to shift the focus of education towards quality and skill development, the policy aims to revolutionize the Indian higher education sector to meet the global needs of the 21st century. Through a literature review, the paper highlights the importance of effective stakeholder engagement, adequate funding, and capacity building for teachers, among others. The study concludes that the successful implementation of the NEP 2020 in our education system will require sustained effort and collaboration from all stakeholders, including the government, educators, and the community.
