INTRODUCTION Digital radiography (DR) provides superior image quality compared to conventional radiography. DR systems offer higher spatial resolution, better contrast, and reduced image noise, which enhance diagnostic accuracy [1].DR eliminates the need for chemical film processing, significantly reducing examination times. This leads to increased efficiency and improved workflow in clinical settings [2]. DR is often associated with a lower radiation dose compared to conventional radiography due to its higher sensitivity and better detector efficiency [3]. While DR systems have a higher initial cost, they are more cost-effective in the end due to reduced operational expenses and improved efficiency. Conventional radiography, on the other hand, remains more accessible in resource-limited settings [4]. This research compares the diagnostic performance of a digital large-area silicon flat-panel detector with that of conventional screen-film radiography in chest imaging. The findings suggest that DR provides comparable or improved diagnostic capabilities [5]. Analyzing Medicare data and found a 13.7% decrease in conventional radiography utilization, while other imaging modalities increased by a combined 39.1% [6]. A research observed a significant decrease in inpatient imaging utilization between 2009 and 2012, with conventional radiography being one of the modalities affected [7]
