Corporate Social Responsibility and Profitability: A Study of Selected Navaratna Companies in India

ABSTRACT This study explores the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) expenditure and net profit in five selected Navaratna companies in India: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Oil India Limited (OIL), National Aluminum Company Limited (NALCO), and IRCON International Limited, using secondary data from 2019-20 to 2023-24. The primary objective is to analyze the trends in CSR expenditure and its proportion to net profit over the study period. Data is sourced from the annual reports, financial statements, and CSR disclosures of the companies.
