ABSTRACT The aim of the present study was to find out the correlation between Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT) and Four Square Step Test (FSST) in healthy young football players. Balance assessment is an important in sports players. Star Excursion Balance Test and Four Square Step Test are reliable test with SEBT being time consuming. In SEBT the distance reached is while balancing on limb is noted in centimetre whereas in FSST duration to complete task is noted in second.115 young healthy collegiate football players was recruited in the study. The balance was assessed using SEBT and FSST, participant were given a rest of 5 min between the two tests. The composite score of SEBT in centimetre (reach distance) was correlated with the FSST score in sec (time).Weak negative correlation was observed between right leg SEBT and FSST (r=-0.221, P value-0.0172) and the leg lower limb SEBT result and FSST (r=0.187, p value- 0.0457).There is weak negative correlation between SEBT and FSST when assessed in healthy young football players. The therapist should deliberately choose a balance assessment tool. The assessment of the balance must be done accordingly.
