COVID 19-Coronavirus: A Pandemic Disease: It’s Impact in Indian Society with Special Reference to Assam

ABSTRACT In the world civilisation, natural calamities, famine, pandemic diseases had been causing drastic and devastating impact in our society through the ages. indian society also greatly affected by these and the respective government also took remedial measures through the enactment of some laws as well as making various policies in collaboration with the people of our country. The recent COVID-19 Corona virus has been creating a horror and tension in the world countries along with the Indian people in the socio-economic and environmental aspects. In this paper, an attempt has been made to highlight the COVID-19 and its socio-economic, cultural as well as environmental effects on Indian society with special reference to Assam. Moreover, attempt has also been made to focus on Indian and Assam government’s attempts to eradicate this havoc from the society under the effective leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi and Health Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.At the same time reaction of the common people regarding the policy formulated by the government during corona lockdown in our country.However,COVID-19 is a pandemic –a common problem for all section of people, it is not only the sole responsibility of our government, health organizations but peoples participation and cooperation is must enforcing govt guidelines, instruction of World Health Organization and suggestion of medical and health departments of our country. In preparing this paper, experience gathered from the universe as well as practical fields and websites, secondary sources like books, journals, and news papers are exploited and analytical method is followed to find out the desired objectives of this paper.
