Digital Marketing: Opportunity and Challenges

ABSTRACT In 1995 CSNL launched its internet services in India, which was the origin of digital marketing in India. It did not perform well initially as only 0.5% of the population used the internet till 2020. Digital marketing involves some of the same principles as traditional marketing and is often considered an additional way for companies to approach consumers and understand their behavior .Its relates to attracting customers via email, content marketing, search platforms, social media and more. Digital marketing also known as online marketing refers to advertising delivered through digital channels to promote brands and connect potential customers using the internet and other forms of digital communication such as: search engines, websites, social media, Email, Mobile apps, Text messaging, web-based advertising. In this article I discussed about the origin, scope, types of digital marketing and what are the opportunity and challenges faced in rural areas.
