Dynamic Scenario and Comparative Assessment of Population: A Study on Jaynagar Majilpur Municipality, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India

ABSTRACT Demography deals with the study of population variation and alters over time and space. It studies also the several determining factor of population change and therefore the impact of such changes on socio-economic growth and development of region. The study of population provides a sign about the distribution of population. The density is one in all the parameters for measuring population ratio of the region. This could be measured by the various mathematical formulas. The population distribution is studied in terms of population concentration. From this time of view it's interesting to check the population and their changes in study region. The change in population isn't only change in its numbers but also its change in structure, composition and distribution with relevancy region and time. The increase means changes in total population; it should be positive or negative. Increase is that the indicator of economic and social development. The Human Geography concentrates on the study of population. On the opposite hand economic development isn't only a necessary requirement of human welfare but also a consequence of human effort. For all developing economies circulation, distribution, growth, sex-ratio, literacy rates and density pattern of population has been showing greater linkages with occupational structure, social, economic and cultural facilities present in those regions. Jaynagar Majilpur Municipality could be a smallest municipality among in South 24 Parganas in both population and area. The presented paper deals with the scenario of dynamic change of population. It deals also a comparative condition with other municipality.
