INTRODUCTION
Language, one of the man’s highest cognitive functions is a highly organized phenomenon. Through all known species other than human are said to process language either as verbal or non-verbal form, only human are found to be using it for a wide variety of functions while most of the animals are using their communicative behaviours to ‘here and now’ function. It involves a systematic learning organization. Linguists have found that the languages across world are said to contain well- defined structures that are identified as Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics and Pragmatics.
Vocabulary, as one of the knowledge areas in language, plays a great role for learners in acquiring a language (Cameron, 2001). Harmon, Wood, & Keser, (2009) as well as Linse (2005) state those learners’ vocabulary development is an important aspect of their language development.
