Effect of Resistance Exercise Training on Upper Body Strength of Senior Citizen

Author Name : Dr. Mukesh Narwariya

ABSTRACT

Many studies have sought to assess the effects of physical exercise on senior citizens. It is necessary to understand how effectively senior citizens can withstand workout regimens without jeopardizing their health. The primary goal of the research was to assess the effects of a resistance exercise training programmed on the upper body strength of senior persons. To perform this study, 40 senior citizens from Gwalior's urban regions were chosen as subjects. The age range of the subjects ranged from 60 to 72 years. All of the subjects lived in different parts of Gwalior's urban areas. Upper Body Strength was chosen as the functional efficiency parameter for this investigation. A twelve-week training programmed lasting 50-60 minutes on alternate days was used. Following the completion of the twelve-week training programmed data on physical fitness parameters were collected as a raw score from the groups. The paired t-test was used to determine whether there was a significant difference in upper body strength. After calculation, the t-value was -33.068, which was more than the tabulated t value of 2.021 at the.05 level, and a significant difference in a specified variable was discovered.
