Effect of Steel Fibers with Micro Silica in behavior of High Strength Concrete

Author Name : Mr. Mohammed Adib Riyawala, Mr. Aakash Suthar

ABSTRACT

In this study investigation of the effects of steel fibers & micro silica with different fiber content by volume on mechanical properties of high performance concrete (UHPC). To study mechanical behavior of reinforced concrete beams, cubes & cylinders. The Involved properties included flow ability, compressive strength & flexure behavior. The result indicates that increase fiber content & use of deformed fibers could gradually decrease the flow ability of UPHC. They also had significant effect on compressive strength & flexure behavior of UHPC. For concrete with 1% to 3% twisted or hooked end fibers & 1% micro silica the compressive strength at 28 days increased by 48% & 59%. Steel fibers & micro silica has gained popularity in last decades because of its superior performance.
