Effects of Fly Ash and Ceramic Waste on Properties of Self Compacting Concrete
Author Name : V. Ashok, K. Sahithi
ABSTRACT
In this research i investigate that the influence of ceramic waste on properties of Self compacting concrete, for that i conduct workability tests such as L-box, J-ring, Slump cone, V-funnel tests to know the properties like flow ability ,passing ability, filling ability of the fresh concrete. M40 Grade mix proportion was taken and different trial mixes are considered by replacing the cement with 10%, 20%, 30%,40% and 50% of flyash, cubes are placed for compressive strength values. Compressive strength test was conducted for 3days, 7days, and 28days.From trial mix results adapted 40% of cement replaced by fly ash.
Ceramic waste developed during the ceramic tiles polishing process, will be specially investigated in this report. Ceramic is used in SCC by replacing cement, fine aggregate and course aggregate. Cement replaced by 30% of Fly ash and 40% of Ceramic Powder for two different trial mixes. Sand replaced by 25% and 50% of Ceramic fine aggregate. Coarse aggregate replaced by 25% and 50% Ceramic Coarse aggregate. For these trial mixes workability tests are conducted and tested under compressive and split tensile strength machines. It gives that ceramic wastesuccessfully produces SCC mixtures with improved fresh and hardened properties.
