Efficacy of Gokshuradi Guggul in Mutravaha srotas w.r.t Ashmari – An Analytical Study

ABSTRACT There are many treatments and modalities are described in Ayurveda classics by all acharyas.Out of which Gokshuradi Guggul is selected for the Study. This medicineis act on Mutrahavaha srotovikaras (urinary tract disease) Gokshuradi Guggul is a Herbo-mineral formulation mentioned in Sharangadhara Samhita. We evaluate authenticity of this medicine through Pharmacognostical procedures. And developed its pharmacognostical and phyto-chemical profile. After studying the potency, quality and efficacy of the product through analytical study, Medicine isused for clinical and research Purpose. Authentication was done before the pharmacological analytical study of this drug. The finished product was subjected for necessary analytical parameters. Present work was carried out to standardize the finished product of Gokshuradi Guggul in terms of its identity, quality and purity. Pharmacognostical and Physicochemical observations revealed all the specific characters of active constituents in the preparation. The data obtained could be useful in deciding the standards for this potential ayurvedic drug and can contribute in the uses and preparation of quality ayurvedic drugs. The same drugs were used for OPD practiced to rule out the efficacy on Muthravahastroto vikaras.
