Material and methods: Eighteen healthy albino rats were divided into three groups having 6 rats in each group. Topical application of imiquimod cream was applied at dose 20 mg/cm2 (5% Concentration) for 10 days for induce psoriasis in wistar rats. Then, the test substance was administered orally in treatment group for 15 days and skin inflammation scoring and histopathological examination was done.

Results: The results had been expressed as mean ± SEM. In Comparison, between the treatment groups and control groups results were performed by analysis of variance (ANOVA).

The data revealed that in the comparison of vehicle Group, the treatment Group was found to be effective in skin inflammation scoring but the test drug found not effective in the evaluation of histology parameters.

Conclusion: From the data obtained in this study, it was concluded that the test drug Guduchi and Kalmegh has shown significant effect on skin inflammation score but there was only a weak effect on histopathological parameters as it was not statistically significant. So, longer active intervention duration is needed to find out the sustainability of the effect.
