Emotional Intelligence and Mental Health Among College Students
Author Name : Dr. Neharshi Srivastava, Srashti Mudgul
This research investigated the relationship between emotional intelligence and mental health. Anxiety, sadness, self-efficacy, and resilience were identified as mental health components in this research. This correlational study used regression analysis to ascertain the correlations between variables. The findings indicated that the EI is a poor predictor of anxiety and depression, as well as responsiveness, a component of resilience. EI was shown to be associated with increased self-efficacy and resilience in 100 Indian Students. These findings provide credence to the notion that emotionally intelligent persons are more likely to be resilient, possess a feeling of self-efficacy, and exhibit lower levels of anxiety, depression, and reactiveness. The findings then indicate the adaptive benefit of emotional intelligence, namely that it enables a person to cope and adapt favorably to his or her environment.
