Emotional Stability of Adolescents In Relation To Gender, Area and Type of School in Hamirpur District

With the advancement of technology in the society an adolescent undergo so many social and emotional changes in life. An emotionally stable person is one who has the attribute of emotional maturity, self confidence and stability in their plans and actions. There is difference in the levels of emotional stability due to the surroundings and the way they have been raised by their families. The major objective of the present study was to find out the emotional stability of adolescents in relation to Gender, Area and Type of School in Hamirpur District. The data was collected by using standardized tool that is Emotional Stability Questionnaire (1995) by Sanjay Vohra. For conducting this study, a sample of 100 secondary school students from Hamirpur District was selected by adopting incidental sampling technique. Mean, S.D. and t-test were used for analysis of data. The findings of the study revealed that the girls possessed higher level of emotional stability as compared to boys. The findings of the study also revealed that adolescents who belong to rural areas and private schools possessed higher emotional stability. At the end of the paper, discussions of the findings are also discussed and the overall suggestive measures are also concluded.
