ABSTRACT This research article examines the dynamic relationship between modern Indian drama and Western drama, focusing on the pivotal roles played by playwrights Asif Currimbhoy and Mahesh Dattani. Through a comparative analysis of their works, this study explores the thematic, stylistic, and socio-cultural dimensions of modern Indian drama in relation to its Western counterparts.
