ABSTRACT This paper presents the changing paradigms of publishing and circulating of information on new media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Instagram. During the course of research the author demonstrates how social media platforms have influenced the minds of people in society. The article also analysesway forward steps involved in building the organizational capacity or governmental capacity in regulating the circulation of fake news and ensuring compliance of law on social media companies and other intermediaries.
