Haemophilia and Orthodontics

ABSTRACT Haemophilia is one of the most common congenital bleeding disorders. It is an inherited disorder caused due to defective or complete absence of the clotting factors. Clot formation does not take place in such patients; these patients are treated with fear in day to day dental practice. Therefore, the ideal treatment required for the patient cannot be given. Recently many advances and guidelines regarding dental management of patients with Haemophilia have been made. They are currently treated as healthy orthodontic patients. This article aims to review general factors about Haemophilia, clinical implications and related orthodontic precaution.
