ABSTRACT Good health is universally acknowledged to be of intrinsic value and constitute an integral part of development. Improved health status of individuals not only indicates greater human development but also in an important parameter of economic development. The health Department, Haryana is committed to provide quality health services and raise the health status of its people. National rural health mission (NRHM) has been introduced in Haryana with a view to bring about improvement in health status of people especially those who live in rural areas of the country. The present paper is an attempt to study the relationship between per capita government expenditure on health (PCGEH), per capita gross state domestic product (PCGSDP) as a proxy to economic growth, major health indicators viz. Crude birth rate, crude death rate and infant mortality rate.
