‘Inclusive Education’ (Perspectives, Processes, Possibilities and Problems)
Author Name : Mohammed Azeemuddin
ABSTRACT
A significant number of children and young people with disabilities are primarily excluded from educational opportunities for primary and secondary education. Exclusion, poverty and disability are connected. Education is widely recognised as a way to develop human capital, improve economic performance, improve people's skills, and provide options. Excluding Education can lead to a tremendous loss of independence and productivity in the labour market. The international society has recognised education as a fundamental right of the child and has set up a framework for action to address this right. However, Inclusive Education is a global phenomenon. The principle of Inclusive Education is common in Europe, Australia and the United States of America. In India, Inclusive Education for children with disabilities has only recently been accepted in policy and practice. This paper calls for all attempts to implement Comprehensive Education services for children with mild to severe disabilities in their schools in the light of current policies and regulations. The paper lays out principles in a standardised manner that schools should follow in order to implement these programs. The recommendations were drawn from an observational analysis that involved analysing traditional behaviours and incorporating integration in a normal regular school setting. Parents, schools and members of society are suggested to be able to implement Inclusive Education programs if they are adequately prepared, to receive support from all stakeholders involved in the process, and to have the necessary resources to run the programs. The purpose of this article is to describe all kinds of possibilities of Inclusive Education, as well as to present all the accessories, aspects, techniques and background associated with the Inclusive Education, so they also have to gain Right to Education and the place, which they deserve. An attempt has been done to summarise every dimension of Inclusive Education through this writing.
