ABSTRACT

There has been a huge change that we have lived in the past two years. Working on online mode has become the new normal since the day we have entered the pandemic phase. Everything from schools to offices has shifted to virtual mode and this has had huge impact on people’s lifestyle, their mental and physical wellbeing, work performance, and family life too.The current study is an attempt to identifygender difference on the measure of job satisfaction and work-family conflict working online. The study was conducted on a sample of 110 with 58 women and 52 men who belonged to the working section and specifically working online from home. The age group was 25-55 years. The scales used in the study were Job Satisfaction Scale and Work and Family Conflict Scale. The statistical analyses used weret-test and Pearson correlation with the help of SPSS. The findings revealed that there is no significant difference between men and women on the measures of Job satisfaction and Work-family conflict as working from home is a heavy toll for both the genders. The correlation data revealed that Job satisfaction and work-family conflict are negatively correlated, which means that due to remote working employees are facing work-family conflict which is causing them to experience deteriorated job satisfaction. This may hamper their psychological wellbeing which in turn affects the growth & production of the company. Hence, the companies should make needful efforts in this regard and consider some measures such as adequate resources to work remotely, avoiding too long working hours, and organize webinars on stress management and time management and provide Tele counseling services.
