ABSTRACT The present paper makes an effort to know about the revenue system of Mughals. The main source of income available to Mughal rulers was tax on the produce of the peasantry. The zamindar’s main duty was collect these taxes on submit the same to the central government’s revenue department. We will also know about the zabati and the revenue system by the Todarmal in the Mughal period.
