Leadership Development For Middle Managers: Key Competencies

ABSTRACT This article examines the crucial role of a competency-based approach to leadership in the modern organizational environment. As the business environment becomes more volatile and complex, traditional management skills alone are no longer enough. The article highlights the growing importance of leadership qualities, which include the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide teams to achieve common goals. Exploring various theoretical points of view and professional standards, the multifaceted nature of leadership and its integration with core managerial competencies are emphasized. The article argues that effective leadership is not only formal power, but also influencing others through interpersonal communication skills, strategic vision and adaptability. The competence-based approach emphasizes the need for managers to develop and apply a diverse set of skills adapted to specific organizational conditions, which ultimately contributes to the productivity and success of the organization.
