Author Name : Monika Mintwal
ABSTRACT: Being rich in multicultural civilisation, Indian society follows a rudimentary structure of hierarchies based on various factors including Race, religion, colour, illiteracy, superstition etc. among which caste system is the most prominent and prevalent which has been a major factor that comes in the way of development of the country from ages. Women condition is becoming more and more vulnerable with every passing day in the similar context this paper does a thorough analyses of double marginalisation of Dalit women; as a woman because even Dalit male treat her inferior and as a Dalit because she suffers from stigma of untouchable or polluted. After analysing the actual condition of Dalit women this paper suggests various options that can be chosen in emancipation of Dalit women in this patriarchal and caste dominated society.
