Musa Paridisiaca: A Flower with Diverse Pharmacological Activities

ABSTRACT

Musa paradisiaca Linn. is found in a wide range of tropical climates. Musa paradisiaca Linn. fruit is a very nutritious and commonly eaten fruit all over the world. The distinct morphological and microscopic properties of the plants are given here. The herb appears to have a wide range of effects on a variety of diseases. Various plant parts have been studied for analgesic, antidepressant, adaptogenic, anticonvulsant, CNS depressant, antidiarrhoeal, antiurolithiatic, antiulcerative, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, antioxidant, antilipidemic, antihypertensive, antiatherosclerotic, cytotoxic, Thrombolytic, Antimalarial, Antisnakevenom, Muta Carbohydrates, proteins, flavonoids, sterol glycoside, vitamins, minerals, and catecholamines are all said to be present.

 Additional research, such as clinical assessment, phyto-analytical tests, and toxicity evaluation, can be carried out with the availability of source data. The plant has been pre-clinically studied to some extent; if these claims are scientifically and clinically validated, it might give effective treatments and aid mankind in a variety of ailments. The active components in the bioactive extract should be standardised.
