Author Name : Miss Anjali Yadav
ABSTRACT: In this paper I am going to study about the concept of mutual funds, its origin and the benefits of it. This year has turned out to be phenomenal year for the mutual funds sector in India. It has surpassed Rs4lakhcrore mark for the first time ever. Also the inflows into equity schemes have continued for the 19th month in a row. There has been a real comeback of retail investors who are not reacting to the market’s steep volatility. The quality of the investments is superior than ever before. Investors have realised that it’s the time when physical assets like real estate and gold are not doing well for long, equity as an asset can’t be ignored for long. As per the trend visible a more meaningful shift will take place into financial assets going forward in 2016. This is majorly due to the fact that gold and real estates are not performing well. But what will happen when there will be poor returns?
