ABSTRACT In recent years, advancements in assistive technology have significantly improved the mobility and independence of visually impaired individuals. This paper introduces a multipurpose smart blind stick designed to improve the mobility, safety, and independence of visually impaired individuals. The system integrates several advanced features, including a movable ultrasonic sensor for real-time obstacle detection, GPS for location tracking, and water and moisture sensors to alert users of hazardous surfaces. A small camera equipped with AI-powered object recognition software identifies common objects like doors, stairs, chairs, or cars, providing voice feedback to help users navigate their surroundings with confidence. Additionally, a Bluetooth voice synthesizer delivers verbal feedback on environmental information, while an emergency button allows users to request immediate assistance in critical situations. Extensive testing across varied environments has demonstrated the system’s reliability and effectiveness in enhancing user safety, mobility, and awareness. This comprehensive assistive device addresses both practical and recreational needs, aiming to improve the quality of life for visually impaired users by empowering them to navigate complex environments independently
