Physical Kinetic Study of Oxidation of Some Alkanones by Isoquinolinium Chlorochromate In Aqueous Acetic Acid-Water Medium

ABSTRACT

kinetic study of Oxidation of some alkanones by isoquinolinium chlorochromate (IQCC) in aqueous acetic acid leads to the formation of corresponding isoquinolinium. The reaction is first order with respect to some alkanones and IQCC. The rate of oxidation decreases with increasing dielectric constant of solvent. The rate of oxidation decreases with increase in concentration of KCl, possibly due to the formation of less reactive species by interaction of Cl- and protonated IQCC.
