Positive Organisational Leadership and Emotional Intelligence: A Conceptual Model for Constructive Emotional Leadership

ABSTRACT For more than a decade, researchers have studied and written about the essential role that emotional intelligence plays in management and leadership. However, a large number of practical instances of emotional intelligence nevertheless concentrate primarily on the leader's ability to control their own negative emotions. This method hinders the application of emotional intelligence in interpersonal headship, notwithstanding its benefits. Moreover, it fails to acknowledge the crucial role that joyful feelings play in leading. A survey of the literature on positive psychology, leadership, and emotional intelligence is conducted in this article. Additionally, it presents a different framework for fetching in emotionally intelligent management that highlights the importance of positive emotional influence and the relational nature of emotion.
