ABSTRACT The increasing awareness of the adverse effects ofsynthetic sunscreen agents has spurred interest in herbal alternatives. This review aims to explore the preparation and standardization processes of herbal sunscreen lotions, focusing on the efficacy, safety, and regulatory aspects. Herbal sunscreens, derived from natural sources, offer a promising solution by combining sun protectionwithskinbenefits.This article discussesthe selectionofherbal ingredients, formulation techniques, evaluation of sun protection factor(SPF),stability testing, and regulatory considerationstoensurethequalityandconsistencyoftheseproducts.
