Review on Indian Drug Allium Sativum

ABSTRACT Allium Sativum, commonly known as garlic, is a well known medicinal herb widely used in Indian traditional medicine (Ayurveda, homoeopathy, allopathy) and other systems of medicine worldwide. Recognized for its diverse pharmacological effects, including antimicrobial and antioxidant, anti- inflammatory, antidiabetic and cardioprotective, anticancer, and immunomodulatory activities Moreover, recent Studies have focused on the potential anticancer properties of garlic, showing its role in inhibiting the proliferation of various cancer cells, including those associated with breast, colon, and prostate cancers. Garlic is a fragrant herb and tuber derived spice that is one of the most sought- after botanicals, used as a culinary and Ethnomedicine for a variety of diseases around the world.
