Role of Micro Finance Programmes in Financial Inclusion in Jharkhand: A Comparative Study

ABSTRACT
Financial Inclusion is a national strategy of Government of India which is helpful to bring untapped citizens into mainstream financial system and Micro Finance is considered as a significant tool for poverty alleviation, employment generation, women empowerment and ultimately financial inclusion in the economy. Micro Finance served a transformative mission of reaching poor section of the society who had previously been excluded from access to financial services. Jharkhand, being a poorest state in east India, facing challenges in social and financial issues representing poor social indicator, imbalanced income disparity, low degree of financial inclusion and high level of poverty which calls various policy measure by state government in micro finance sector.The research paper aims to analyze the role of micro finance interventions in promotion of financial inclusion in the state of Jharkhand.
