Role of Shamana Aushadhi In Sheetpitta W.S.R. to Urticaria – A Case Study

Sheetapitta is one among the Tvak Vikara. Sheetapitta is one of the disorders which caused by virudhahara sevan. Vata and Kapha are two “Doshas”, which are primarily disturbed which in turn is associated with Pitta resulting in Tridosha Prakopa leading to redness, swelling itching on the skin etc. Cardinal symptoms of Sheetpitta are reddish patches, swelling on skin with moderate to severe itching at site. It is compared with urticaria (hives) in modern science. This condition may be caused by contact with an external irritant such as the nettle, physical agents, food, insect bites, pollens, drugs or neurogenic factors. Treated symptomatically and with anti-allergic drug. Antihistaminic drugs are used in urticaria. In Ayurveda many formulations were directly prescribed for treatment of Sheetapitta. A 45 years old female patient with cardinal symptoms of Sheetpitta was attended at OPD basis. Treatment done with Shaman aushadhi. Marked improvement observed in signs and symptoms of Sheetapitta.
