ABSTRACT

In this paper we reviewed, the semiconductor technologies, automation in semiconductor manufacturing, automation architecture, and benefits. Based on semiconductor qualities and device needs, an overview of the 100-GHz and 100-Gb/s semiconductor active devices that are currently on the market is provided in this article. The status of competing technologies is then provided in two different areas, including oscillators, which show how they behave in analogue circuit applications, and frequency dividers, which show how well-suited they are for high-speed digital circuits. The most widely used technologies are then described.
