Sleep Disturbance among Students and Staff of Homoeopathic Medical Colleges Due to Excessive Use of Blue Light Emitting Devices

ABSTRACT
Introduction and Need of Study - This study focuses on sleep disturbance in the students and staff of the Homoeopathic Medical colleges of Belgaum. Sleep is a physiological state of unawareness which is regulated homeo statically. Smart phones and laptops have become an undividable part of human life. Excessive use of blue light-emitting devices (smart phones, tablets and laptops) has negative effects on sleep due to light stimulation. The person having the habit of excessive use of such devices may suffer from the symptoms of sleep disturbance. We aimed to evaluate this study among medical students and staff.
