ABSTRACT

This paper deals Zn0.9Sr0.1Bi4Ti4O15 (ZSBT) of four-layer Aurivillius compound synthesised by Solid-State Reaction (SSR) method. The sample is calcinated at 950oC for 4 hrs and sintered at 1100 oC for 2 hrs.  The sample has orthorhombic crystal structure which is found by XRD and is confirmed the same by the Raman spectroscopy.  The microstructure is recognised as plate-like grains and their measurements are also done by SEM.   Different elements present in the sample are estimated by EDS.  Phonon modes of this compound are studied at around 118, 231, 268, 535, and 849 cm-1 by Raman spectroscopy.  Vibrational modes of ZSBT are studied by FTIR spectrum.

Keywords: Solid-State Reaction method, X-Ray Diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscope, Raman spectroscopy and FTIR.
